ΦΕΝΕΟΣ: 

Μερικά  χιλιόμετρα έξω από την Αθήνα – περίπου 2,5 ώρες – «υπάρχη» αυτό το υπερθέαμα μια απέραντη ομίχλη κατά τις πρωινές ώρες . Ο κάμπος του Φενεού και η τεχνητή λίμνη Δόξα είναι ένας μικρός παράδεισος μέσα στη φύση και ένας προορισμός που προσφέρεται ακόμα και για ημερήσια εκδρομή . Ανεβαίνοντας  προς τη Ζήρεια, αμέσως μετά τη Στυμφαλία δεν αντιλαμβάνεται κανείς ότι κάτι  κρύβεται πίσω από το βουνό. Η “Ελβετία” της Ελλάδας: 

Η λίμνη Δόξα

Η μυθολογία λέει υπήρχαν δύο ποτάμια, ο Δόξας και ο Όλβιος, τα οποία τους χειμώνες πλημμύριζαν  με τα νερά τους την πεδιάδα του Φενεού, καταστρέφοντας τις καλλιέργειες των κατοίκων. Έτσι, χωρίστηκαν με ένα φράγμα που όχι μόνο δεν αλλοίωσε το φυσικό περιβάλλον, αλλά το «απογείωσε», με την έλξη των μονοήμερων εκδρομών.
